Default full size blazer auto-stick swap

Hey guys,

I have a 92 full-sized blazer. It has an auto in it, but I want to convert it to a 5-speed. Has anyone ever done this? What all is involved? Thanks for any help.

You have to determine whether you have the 4L60E or the 700R4. 1992 was the transition year for the fullsize trucks. If you have the 4L60E, you will have to get your ECU programmed to replace the auto trans programming with the manual stuff (basically removing everything for the auto).

Your best bet would be to find a donor truck with the same drivetrain configuration (2wd or 4wd) and engine as you truck and then swap over the ECU chip, trans, linkages, etc.
