Sounds like you have a major gas leak from the fuel injector system under the upper intake plenum. Probably will need to replace it.

Gas poured out?? I am betting it is either the pressure regulator or the spider assembly. You have the "W" engine code correct??

Look at your VIN and count from left to right to the 8th position....should be a "W"....if so, remove the vortec cover and on top of the intake there will be a round plastic valve aka tuning valve. Pull it off and see if there is fuel inside the intake....you will need a flash light to look down inside....if so, there in lies your problem. You will need to remove the upper portion of the intake to service/replace the components inside.

Thanks Guys....I"ll check it out, I know there was an issue with the spider assembly before, I bet you two are correct... would that also cause it to smoke out of the exhaust pipe...white/blueish color?

White.....some but, white smoke is usually just steam if it is at first start up...in the mornings and it dissipates quickly. If it is on every start up and it hands around for a little while it could be coolant.

Blueish smoke would be oil burning....valve seals usually.

If it is running rich you could smell the fumes and it would be more of a black color....sooty.
