Default Gearshift conversion for 1993 S10 Blazer 4x4

I just had a brainstorm for a possible conversion to a 1993 S10 Blazer 4x4 if I am ever able to get my hands on one. Anyway, how hard would it be to relocate the automatic transmission gearshift from the steering column to the floor, and use a center console and floor shifter from a GMC Typhoon? Could this be done with the existing tranny or would it be necessary to put a tranny from a Typhoon in?

Sounds like much work, effort, much expense, just to get a floor shift and console.

It is theoretical, but you might have to change out the steering columns, you would also need to replace some of the wiring harness for length(and possible lead shapes). You would also need to modify the center area where the new shifter would go.
