Default Gearshift lever cover replacement

At last!

This broken gearshift sliding cover thingy has bugged me since I bought the truck. The only way to get a new slide at the time was to buy a complete console. The Chevy guys have found they had a loose slide & it cost 30 bucks so now I need to replace it. It looks to be a challenge as I'll need to remove the whole console to get to the old strip.
The description in the Haynes manual looks way different to mine so I'll just have to keep undoing things till I get to it.
I'm not too sure if any US Blazers have the auto change in the console the same as mine but for interest sake here are some pics.

Default RE: Gearshift lever cover replacement

My Bravada had the shift on the floor, but it did not have this slide, but rather, a boot around the shift lever... You will need to remove the shift handle on the top (there should be a set screw in from either the side or the front that you remove with an allen wrench). Then you may be able to pull up on the trim plate right at the shifter and remove just that section. I am not sure though... That is different than the US ones that I have seen.
