Good ideas, got any?
No, I don't have any, but any good ideas while its apart would be much appreciated.
We are dropping an 01 engine into a 99.
I figure I should flush the coolant same day I get it back (I run the green)
Main seals?
I can't really think of anything else that would be done best while apart, many thanks.

Well I was trying to see in the 99 what exactly is going on with that but I can't see back there. From reading here I've got a 50/50 chance I'll be alright From the letters in the VIN they both have W's in the 6th position I think it is. Will Bosch spark plugs Do Nvidia,?
Nevermind on the Spark plug question I answered it myself from the posts on here, I'll track down the Delcos when stores are open again, Thanks forum, this place is great.

Yeah you may pay a lil more for the Delco plugs but they are worth it, these 4.3's don't seem to run right on anything else... glad to see you are reading and learning from the forum, there is lots of valuable information here if ya take the time to read thru it.
Im not sure who told you that because you have a vin "w" you have a 1 wire knock sensor. The w is for a 6cyl 4.3l Vortec H.O. with balance shaft, Not the knock sensor you have. I just want to make sure u know that you would be better off to just get the motor with the right setup so you dont have to mess around.
Actually I got that from talking to different shops when I was looking for a new... they were asking about there being a W in the VIN and suggested that normally you've got a year either way to get one that will fit without headache.
But then when I decided on the one to take, buddy said it was in 01 that they changed this knock sensor and You'll have a 50/50 on being alright, turns out that the piece that I belive is the knock sensor on this new engine I got, Is tapped 1/4" pipe, and from what I've read here I'm good to go, fingers crossed. wouldn't be a big deal to redo some threads if a guy had to. Fingers crossed I want my ride back theres lots o mud to play in now.

The knock sensor is as far on the back of the engine as you can go, Right before where the bellhousing bolts thread into, If the hole was already drilled to the bigger size and the threads are tapped for you, Your good to go. Good luck with the install.
