Is this something new? Or does it always do it? I have a '96 Blazer (automatic) and depending on acceleration it kicks quite a bit during shifting. My dad claims that the tranny feels like it's slipping.

Sounds like the tranni is slipping also another option is that it could possibly not sayin it is but could be the crankshaft positioning sensor mine has been acting up for some time now and mine does the same thing.

Could be the 1-2 shift valve body. There have been posts about this, but I can't find them right now.

engine performance will affect tranny performance. The puter monitors the engine and adjusts the tranny accordingly. Do you have any performance issues with the engine?

Does this hard shifting occur at a specific rpm?

my tranny has been fine since i bought it but today it started to feel like it was slipping, it wont shift until 2500 rpms which is unusual for it and when i am taking off it feels like it is breaking traction when it isnt.
