Default heat soaked starter

well today i was running around during my lunch break, going to the bank, and getting lunch, however when I went to start my Blazer to go to McDonalds she wouldn't start at first it started to turn over then bogged out. So I Tried again, and the same but after the second slow turnover it started to crank properly and started right back up. It did it the day before but it wasn't nearly as bad. However when she is cold or has been sitting for a few she starts right up with no issue, so experience tells me the starter is getting heatsoaked/ I wondering if there is any quick fix for this, or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and replace the starter. any input would be appreciative

Looks like you might have met the heat problem of having the solenoid as part of the starter like GM does it. Some people change it to the Ford method of having them separate. I Googled it one time and found several articles on how-to. Might try giving that a shot.

When I have experienced a heat related starter problem, it has taken quite a while to cool before it has worked. Your problem may be worn brushes that are being affected by heat.
