i am going to buy a 350 for my 84 k5 blazer. when i go to look at a motor what things should i look at or check for before i buy an engine?

 

Hearing an engine run is always a plus.

Do you intend to find a motor ready to drop in or are you looking for a good rebuild candidate?

 

if everything is hooked up pop the radiator cap off before you start it. then start it. if you see bubbles don't buy (that means a bad head gasket). don't forget to put that top on. look for any physical damage as far as if it was in a wreck,

 

Im looking for an engine that is close to being ready to drop in, mainly bottom end complete. But if i find a cheap block in good condition i wouldn't mind rebuilding it.
