Help with diagnosis 4L60E
I have a 97 4wd blazer. It takes off in 2nd and shifts to 3rd just fine. There's a code p0753 for the shift solenoid issue. I have the solenoids, pan gasket, and filter to do the job. I drove it to the circle k to pump up the tires and put a charge back on the battery. On my way back, I noticed that if I took my foot off the accelerator, the rpms would drop to around 600 or so. As if it's in neutral. Is this an indication of the torque converter failing to lock? Or just an ancillary symptom of the failed solenoid? Opinions please and thank you.

Update
A couple of new issues have come up since replacing the solenoids.
1. Shifts HARD from first to second.
2. Code p01870, transmission component slippage.
From what I've read, I need to replace the entire valve body.
And if that is the case, I have an idea.
I was thinking about taking the valve body out of my 02, which is a 2wd, and putting it in this 97, which is a 4wd.
Then, buy a new valve body for the 02 with the upgrades and everything.
The reason I want to do it this way is because I plan to sell the 97.
Would this work?

2000-2002 are by themselves as far as VB go. So 1997 wouldn’t work. Pump valve line up changed fom1996-1999. The 1870 code is pretty generic code that covers “transmission component slipping “ the hard shifts are from the PCM raising line pressure to compensate for the slip its seeing. I have used this valve to help in ones that keep setting that code. It works as long as all other components are in good working order. My opinion is a VB change wont help out even with a proper VB. This valve can be changed by dropping the pan and filter off and removing the lock up valve from pump. Good luck
