Hey, I have a 96 Blazer, 4.3 4x4, auto, and have been having problems. It started awhile ago, and has not gotten any worse or better. When ever I let off from a stop, or a parked position, the engine doesn't seem to want to rev past like 2500 rpm, no tach, and I just have to slowly build momentum to get going. When parked up a hill its the worst, I usually have to put the petal to the floor, even though it doesnt fully rev the engine, and wait for 20 seconds before I even begin to move. My check engine light has been on and I pulled the codes and they came up as "transmission electrical". Could it be the shift solenoid A, i assume A controls first gear? It seems like once I am past first gear I am in the clear. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A transmission problem should not cause an RPM limiting issue.. Most transmission issues cause a slip condition and a racing engine.
I would be looking at the output from the TPS (throttle position sensor) to make sure that it is a smooth transition from ~0.5V at closed throttle to ~4.5V at wide open throttle for the output to the PCM.
You also may want to clean the throttle body, EGR valve, and MAF sensor if for nothing else than preventative maintenance.
What was the specific code (Pxxxx) that came up when you scanned the computer.
