Default Hesitation

I have a 95 Blazer. It seems to have a hesitation right off the get go. I can be coasting along and then I hit the gas a bit and it will bobble, then take off. I was wondering if this could be due to a plugged converter? My engine light was on and the code came up as something about gas recirculation. Im not exactly sure what that is referring to. It is also weird because my engine light will be out, then it will randomly come on and then it will go out again for another 200 to 300km without me even reseting it. It puzzles me. Thanks in advance.
