Default I need help!

I have a 97 blazer.
a while back we replaced the fuel pump and spider injector. Car has been running fine, since recently. So when I go to start it doesn't always turn over. Most the time i have to push the gas to get it started and I just started hearing knocking noises?
I read some forms that say the knocking happens with the high mileage. But it still makes me nervous. I do think it's about time for an oil change and a basic turn up. What else Could be wrong?

Under what conditions do you hear knocking sounds? When cranking? At the same speed as the motor? Can you describe the sounds?

Oil changes should be a regular maintenance item. Have you checked the oil? What does it look like?

Where is the "knocking" noises coming from? If it is the engine I strongly recommend checking the oil level and getting a oil change before you throw a rod! I would also suggest using "high mileage oil" or using synthetic motor oil, which costs more than high mileage oil...

While driving it knocks in the engine by the glove department. Its not loud, more like a faint knocking. It doesn't always knock, it comes and it goes.
oil is fine. It's just about that time to do an oil change.

Just by chance, are you hearing or feeling a slight vibration from the front passenger wheel area? If so you might need a new wheel hub assembly. I just had mine replaced. Mine was making a kinda "rubbing sound"...

No vibrations in the car. But that's good to know just in case it starts

If it is engine knock, that is a big concern that should be address. If it is something else you'll still want to address it, but it is less of a panic.

If the knocking corresponds with bumps on the road, and sounds more like a metallic tap/thump it could also be your hood hinge. There was a tech bulletin for them rattling.

Might not be nothing but are all of your gauges on the dash working properly? Reason I ask is I kept blowing the #15 10amp fuse on my 98 4x4. I just had the front passenger side wheel hub replaced and all is fine now, no more rubbing kinda sound and no more blown fuses lol...
