Well, I hate to break it to ya, but that mod really isn't all its cracked up to be. I did it and the only affect I experienced was increased part throttle sensitivity. Scans showed that I had no better performance without the deflector and I was starting to see signs of uneven coloration on the plugs from cylinder to cylinder (mainly between the front cylinders as fed through the lower intake and the rear cylinders) which I attribute to uneven EGR gas distribution. I traded the truck before I was able to find another throttle blade to cut down to 3/8" tall like what is used in the 5.7L Vortec V8 which uses the *exact* same throttle body just with the shorter deflector. The TB on the V8 is located closer to the center of the intake than on the V6.
But I digress... Unless you put something back together wrong, the mod isn't causing this issue.
*EDIT* - You stated in another thread that your CEL (check engine light) is on... Have you gotten the codes scanned?
