Intake Question, 95 W Block. Goop or no?
Ok.... Not sure if this has been addressed before, but I've got to know.
Should you use some sort of glue/gasket maker/sealant etc... when putting on an air intake?
I've got the two piece intake, and I've already properly torqued down the bottom half, using new gaskets, and some gasket sealant. I'm about to put on the top half, after checking the spider f.i. system for leaks, and cleaning it up. I've just installed a new 4.3 block, and the last thing left is to put on this intake, set the timing, and fire it up.
So... should I just use the new gasket between the top and bottom half of the intake... or should I put some "goop" on the gasket?
Thanks
Chris

Just from personal experience/preference, I always apply a very thin bead of Permatex to the gasket being applied no matter what the application is. One nice thing it also does is help keep the gasket from moving around on you.
But again a VERY thin bead is all you need!
