Intermittent starting problem
Try giving the bottom of the tank a good whack with a rubber mallet. Mine started right up after 0 pressure at the test port. Unfortunately the pump died completely a few days later [:@]
And autozone/advance have pumps for 250-300, and you can order a Delco online for 280 if im remembering right. Where/why did you pay $500?
But I still dont think its worth paying someone to do. Its not hard, just gas fume-y.
Edit: Two problems. One...youre still getting a flashing security light. So to confirm its the passlock system...you should be getting a crank, fire (RPMs shoot up), die. If its the fuel pump, you just get crank crank crank crank...no rpm movement. Second, if you get a security light, I know it kills fuel to the injectors, but does it cut it before or after the test port? Im just thinking theres no way to know if its the fuel pump or not if you have a security light killing the fuel flow signal.
