1998 gmc jimmy,pretty good leak antifreeze on ground,only want to do the job ounce,are we changing the bolts also,what gaskets?...TIA

 

For the LIM gaskets will want to use the upgraded Fel-Pro set: Federal-Mogul Motorparts P/N MS 98002 T These have a metal carrier/frame for the sealing material.

When I did mine, I also bought new bolts. They were not that expensive.

I also decided to replace the fuel injection spider while I had it all apart. I had the one in my '92 go bad about the same age and mileage and thought I might as well do it.

I also at the same time flushed the power steering system. It was a lot less of a hassle than I thought it would be.

Edit: This is a very good write up of the whole process of getting at the LIM gaskets. Ignore the advice about scraping the LIM gasket surfaces. Also pay close attention to the description of the hidden power-steering bracket bolts. If I had I would have saved myself at least an hour trying to figure out how to slide the PS pump forward! LOL
