K5 Trans Question
#1
Okay guys gotta question. I am almost positive of it but want to make sure. I have an 87 5.7 350 K5 right now, and I also have an 83 6.2 diesel 2500 and I want to know if the transmission from the 6.2 will bolt up to the 350. I dont need it right at the moment but I know sooner or later(with the way I drive) I'm gonna make it go out. I am almost positive it will bolt up and work but one of my friends said that it won't. They are both 4-speed auto trans! Thanks guys!
*edit* And speaking of the way I drive, haha, I broke the cross pin that holds in my spider gears, I am damn lucky I didn't break any gears or have my axle fall out!

yeah it will fit. thats the great thing about chevy trucks you can pretty much take anything off anything and mix parts up. the only thing that is different is the torque converter, so i was told anyways. i dont know whats different about it though. it wouldnt hurt to put a new one in there anyways.
im running a 85 th400 that was behind a 6.2 diesel that is now bolted to a 76 400ci engine.
you will probably have to use the same transfercase that is behind that 400 too. if your 87 has the 700r4 those wont interchange due to different spline count and adapters
maybe driveshafts too
