Leaking tranny

Leaking tranny
Hi guys
Been lurking here for awhile reading up on the great info. Now I need some help. Purchased a new 4.3 from a guy that bought it for a project 13 years ago. Now I am ready to install. Mine has been out for over 2 months. The tranny is resting on blocks under the pan. I noticed that the tranny is leaking oil like crazy between the bell housing and the case near the pan. I removed the torque converter and all is dry inside. Should I pull the tranny and bring it to a shop or is there a seal in between that I could change. Appreciate suggestions. 97 Jimmy 4 x 4 ,4 door 4L 60E.
