I got a 99 4x4 with some lifter noise .... How long can I drive around with it what will it tak e to fix it

 

No codes and everything seems fine

 

Well not long because eventually it will wipe out the cam or float a valve or bend a push rod or any number of things that make you go Hum. how's the oil pressure ? You could try some engine oil additive, it just may be a sticky lifter but i doubt it. Pull the valve covers and see if any one of the rocker arms are overly loose. May just need an adjustment.
