Default Lost reverse

Hey all. I think the 35s finally killed the Jimmy! I was out doing some shooting today and when I went to leave is when it happened. I was backing up out of a pretty steep hill and the engine started revving higher and I started going slower. It made a ratcheting sound and then stopped moving. I have all forward gears with no noise. Let it cool off and tried reverse again. Same results started backing up, ratcheting noise and then nothing. Now it doesn't make any noise but it also doesn't even try to move backwards. What did I break?

My first thought would be reaction shell which is notorious for failure. I would suspect you only have 1st and 3rd gears forward, if that is the case than that would confirm the shell has stripped. If you have 4 forward gears maybe rear planets, either way the transmission needs to come out to be repaired or replaced.
Good luck
Brad

I still have all four forward gears. I did notice last week backing out of my driveway that it was slipping in reverse. I have a fairly steep driveway.
