New member, first-time Blazer owner.

2000 model with 4.3L Vortec, 52k miles.

The Service Engine light came on a few days after we got it home. O'reilly's code reader says "Fuel trim bank two condition" and "Fuel trim bank one condition". It says suspect a MAF sensor fault.

Does this sound right to you all?

The truck is running great, but the light came back on after the code reader cleared the faults.

I've found a How-To video on testing the MAF sensor...but not sure where it's located. I'm not much of a mechanic (electronics engineer), but I can do light stuff like this. I have a multimeter and an O-scope to test the frequency ouput once I locate the sensor.

I don't want to hang a new sensor on it for $100 before I test to see if it's the problem.

Is it pretty easy to spot, once somebody directs me to it's locaton?

Thanks in advance for any/all advice!

Oh, I just found Garry2000blazer's MAF sensor writeup in the DIY section! Thanks Garry!

UPDATE: I filled up with 89 octane this morning and the Service Engine Soon light went off and has stayed off all day! Fingers crossed. I hope it was just the cheap stuff that caused it.
