Manifold Leak
Thanks yall I really appreciate the suggestions and help, I'm just prolly gonna borrow some money and go get it fixed. I'm not really that mechanically inclined so I don't think I could do anything by myself.
It's not a tough project. no special tools or procedures. get a haynes or chilton manual to guide you. the gaskets are cheap. set aside 4 or 5 hours(it shouldnt take that long, but if your green...)
just did it on my 98. as long as you take pics as you go and label the nuts etc it is easy enough to do. i did pugs wires cap rotor and full intake gasket for under $300 (mind you the plugs alone were $6 each at my cost) the biggest thing is taking out the distributor, just make a mark with whiteout on the dist and intake so they line up right when you put it back in.
I was told by my mechanic a while back that I needed a water pump on my 98 Blazer.
I took it in for some other stuff and the water pump.
He told me later that it was not the water pump, but manifold gasket needed to be replaced
~ $ 500.. Well, the leak was small so I bought a little vial of coolant gasket sealer for under $2 from Napa. I have traveled over a 2000 miles and no leakage. I still check the revisor every couple of days and carry coolant.
