Hey guys I am on my second blazer and having a mileage problem with this one, its a 96 and I am getting just short of 300km to a tank I bought it cheap just recently and had to do the lower intake manifold so while I was in there I did wires and plugs it already had a new cap and rotor as well as alternator and battery.

I did some research about the bad mileage and found it was most likely the spider assembly so I changed it and I have no improvements.

I have no check engine light or anything to tell me whats going on and to top it off I always watch my gauges since my 95 had problems with temp going to high well this one dosent even get to operating temp it will climb to about 105c then drop to about 70c (I think thats what would be about half way between 40 and 100 on the gauge) and stay there I also put a new thermostat in it.

With the 95 I had I wuold make 400 to 500km on a tank and its the same size tank, what could be causing this? what am I looking for for both problems?

 

If it is not getting all the way up to operating temp than that is probably why you are getting bad mileage. I would check out your cooling system, maybe have it plugged into a scanner that can monitor engine temp while running and make sure that the gauge is reading right. Does your heat work?

 

Heat works ok at best it will cook you if its only like -5 or warmer but at -20 or colder it dosent seam to get hot it just gets warm and after 20 to 30 min in a store or where ever its almost back to 40c or less
