motor acting up after head gasket blown and replaced
im starting to think i should have dropped the gas tank because im having starting problems.. my blazer was parked for about 5 or 6 months work motor work.(head gaskets) it starts and will stay running for a sec or two and then shut off.. i will have to do this about 5-6 times before it will stay running. while im trying to start i could put my foot to the floor and it dont do a think no change at all! when it is running at idle its not ruff but if i give it gas fast it want to cut off.. im thinking bad gas but i filled up with super the other day so thats kinda going out the window and im scared to think its other things.. sorry for the long message.

Does it run crappy when it starts then dies? What does it do when it dies? Cuts right off or sputters?
Answering those questions will help us. One thing that comes to mind is the TPS, Look up on here how to check the TPS because to me it sounds like its not working right. Also, have you checked your fuel pressure? And lastly do you have any check engine lights?

Go to a parts store and rent a fuel pressure tester. The test port is on the fuel lines running into the back of the intake. It should be 60+ PSI with the key in the run position and the engine OFF then it should not drop below 50-55 PSI after 10 minutes. Do you remember if you took out the spider when you did the head gasket? If you did you may have damaged a line and it could be leaking.
The TPS is the Throttle Positioning Sensor. It is located on the drivers side of the throttle body. There are two sensors there, one is the TPS and one is the IAC (Idle Air Control). You need a volt meter to test the TPS.
