My gear shifter came completly off!!!
I have a 2002 chevy Trailblazer LS with an automatic transmission. The gear shifter is on the center consol, between the 2 seats. When I went to put car into reverse the whole **** or gear shifter came completly off. What is wrong and how do I fix this?? It is still loose and will come off again if I pulled up on it. Seems like something might have broke. Any help will do. Any part names or advice please. Thanks.
Most floor shifted vehicles use a small screw to hold the gear shift on. I have not been in a blazer with the floor shift in a while so I cant say for sure..but...just look on the front, below where your fingers would go.
This is a 4.2L inline 6 trailblazer from 2002. You might have it mixed up with a 4.3L V6 that looks like an S10 blazer. The newer body style. I will still look for that screw or if it is missing.
Okay, I fixed it!! They was a screw by the button that you push with your thumb. It was almost comming out, so I tightened it all the way. I am good now. Thanks.
