O.K. Blazer pro's, and amateurs too! I got a SES on the other day and had it checked at Advance. The code was--0442--evap/emissions. Guy said maybe new gas cap was needed. So, I got one. But, I had an earlier post about a fuel odor problem when the tank is full. When about a 1/4 of the tank goes down from full, the fuel odor stops. Dunno what the problem is, but maybe the code and the fuel odor problem are linked somehow?? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks!

 

Sounds like you have a leak at the top of the fuel tank. Did you recently have a new fuel pump or sending unit installed? If not it may just be rusted...If so, you probably have a pinched gasket on the fuel module.
