Default Need help with an 02 blazer tranny shuttering

Hello,

I recently bought a 2002 blazer 4dr 4x4 with 124,000 miles and the tranny started shuttering over 50mph (tach starts shuttering) it stops as soon as I lightly touch the brake. And doesn't do it all the time, also when u first put the truck in gear u have to press hard on the gas to get it going. (also not all the time). I was told it could be the torque converter, the torque converter solenoid, or the transmission going bad. It does have a check engine light on saying the transmission component is slipping. Is there anyway to tell if which one it could be? I also debated changing the transmission fluid and filter but was afraid it would make it worse. The fluid is full and looks good right now(no burnt smell). Any suggestions appreciated

sounds like the Torque convetor clutch is slipping and or the PWM solinoid in the valve body is going bad, if you feel confortable replacing the PWM TCC solanoid then drop the pan and change it before more damage is there, but it might be to late!

P1870 - Transmission Component Slipping can be caused by a number of things. A torque converter clutch problem, weak TCC Solenoid, or poor line pressure caused by a leaky seal somewhere in the circuit can all cause the code to set. Determining the true cause prior to replacing components will require an experienced tech with the proper tools to run through the diagnostic chart.
