Default Need help on a mystery problem

I have searched around the site and couldnt find the answer maybe you guys could help.

I have a 93 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3 Vortec in it. I was driving home from Phoenix to Tucson and once and a while it would sputter while accelerating. it did this for a about 10 miles off and on then finally it bogged down very hard, and I tried feathering the throttle to get it back to normal but lost all RPMs and power and the motor shut off. It acted like it was out of fuel but had 3/4 of a tank. I pulled off to the side and tried turning the motor over and when i crank it it bucks really hard with no luck to get it started. it feels like it wants to throw the motor out the front of the truck. I thought it was the fuel pump but the pump is running when the Ign is on and there is fuel getting to the motor from the filter. There is spark and I replaced the ignition modular. and I checked the ground wire that has given me trouble before, and it was not it. could it be injectors? Timing Issue? I am wondering what you guys think i have found alot of answers to my problems here and hopefully you guys and figure this one out! Thanks for helping get my Prerunner running again!!!

take a rubber mallet and take a whack at your fuel filter, it could be clogged although it could be getting buy it might be on its last leg. Also check your fuel pressure.

Without a fuel pressure & leak down test for confirmation, this is just a stab in the dark. I bet, like many other CPI motors, your problem is a failed FPR inside the intake manifold. VERY common.

Check your oil level. If substantially higher than normal and it smells like gas, then you definitely have an FPR failure on your hands.

If a fuel pressure and leak down test check out fine, then it could be the electrical connector to the fuel injector inside the plenum.

The FPR is heading in the right direction but i have a 93 vortec as well mine was doing the same thing changed the FPR and it did nothing try cleaning or replacing the EGR and that should fix your problem.

Also you should pull off the upper plenum and if the left side has a brass color real clean and the right is dirty then you have a FPR leak as well.

I would venture and say a Throttle Position sensor if all the above checks ok.
