Default New engine and transmisson for 4dr, 95 lt blazer

The chevy blazer still looks nice and it's 4 wheel drive. How much it should cost? My dad said to rebuild the engine but i don't know what to do.

If it's bad anyway, swap it for a V8. Head over to a scrapyard and get a 350 cheaply. That's what I would do.

Motor: I would go with a new crate motor. The cost would probably be about the same as a rebuild, dependent upon what has to be replaced.

Unless the part that failed took other parts out then it would be cheaper to rebuild.

A 350 swap is not as simple as you make it sound Oystein, you need conversion mounts, headers, wiring harness, PCM, etc.
