When I first got my blazer it had been sitting a couple of years. I literally flushed it something like 6 times before it was all cleaned out, I also replaced the entire cooling system that way the block was the only thing that could have that crap in it. It was a long process but definitely worth it.

yeaaaaaa its a mixture of 20 years and dexcool etc that causes it. You can get it all cleaned out,but it will take forever. Took me 11 flushes and mines still a little discolored.

Drain the rad, remove the thermostat and run your hosepipe through it and let it run till it runs clear, then do the same with the rad. Even then it'll somehow turn brown again..do this as many times as you want until you feel satisfied.

You need to get all of that junk out of there. That typically requires the removal of the drain plugs on the sides of the block to get the water jackets in the block completely drained and flushed clean.

Wasn't '95 the first year for Dexcool use in these trucks?
