new to me 93 cpi blazer

Default new to me 93 cpi blazer

got a new s10 with a no spark condition, honestly thought it would be easy but it's sparking from the coil...sometimes? but nowhere else and even direct from coil it has to crank for 5 seconds to start sparking

Do you mean sparking from the coil body or you pulled the lead and it is sparking to ground?

coil lead to ground, purple spark but wont start the engine and timing is correct, so I'm grabbing a new distributor since the pickup is more expensive than a used entire dist

some pops while idling so I need to address that but it was the pickup being faulty intermittently

its running and running mostly ok, some help would be nice though since it's cranking for a few seconds before starting

Do a fuel pressure leak down test and pull one plug wire and look for spark during the initial crank no start condition.

no it starts its just cranking for 5 seconds before kicking over and runs a bit weird at idle
