Exclamation this is a new one on me.

traded for a 97 4wd blazer. the thing has a miss at idle and a light load. put a load on it( hard acceleration or pulling a hill) the thing doesnt miss a beat. i noticed in the after noon, it has the same issue but you can get the engine to temp and shut it off. then a few minutes later crank it and itll be fine. its throwing me for a loop. i believe itll be a module but im not sure. finances are extremely tight so i really dont want to throw a bunch of money at this thing...... thanks for any ideas......

First check the spark plugs.

second, do a fuel pressure test and leakdown. My 94 acted like this when the fuel pressure regulator started leaking. The extra fuel leaks into the cylinders, at idle and low rpm it is flooding it, but at higher speed it doesnt matter as much.

Not the regulator. If it was leaking would be cleaner under plenum. Im thinking its going to be the ignition module. I have one in the mail as well as a dist. and coil. I checked to see if egr was locked up as well. Cleaned it but it was fine. Its not really rpm related. Its a load based issue. I can put it ingear and itll be skipping around. When i start brake torquing it, the engine smooths out and has plenty of power. It not throwing any codes........

It was a faulty hall effects sensor under the rotor button.
