Default No 2nd gear

My 1999 4X4 blazer has no 2nd gear, all my other gears work fine. I just have to speed up in 1st gear to about 2800 rpm, let off the gas and then it will shift into 3rd. 4th and Reverse work fine, 2nd is the only gear I have a problem with. The tranny shop says I need a rebuild costing $110-1300, I am just wondering if there is anything else it might be, I have tried looking all over the web and I was wondering if maybe it could be the servo?

Took the blazer by 2 tranny shops, first one just said I need a rebuild, second shop took it for a drive with me in it and explained everything. He confirmed that it is skipping second gear totally and said it might be acting a little funny going into 4th(not dropping rpm much right away). He said I should try changing the servo and check the accumulator springs, if that doesn't fix it they would have to get in the tranny. I guess I will try that and see what happens
