Yes you do. only it's cause you dont understand how they work.
A glowing cat is bad, or going bad. Bad cats dont necessarily ever glow.

I went back to where the problem began. I pulled the fuel filter and hooked up a nipple and clear tube and the fuel was coming out of the foamey. awesome. right now gonna try another pump.

Im sorry why are you trying an other pump ?

there is a proper way to diagnose the system instead of guessing
