No power after getting hot.
#1
At first I thought I may have burned up my transmission at the beach last weekend. I drove it pretty hard out there. My step brother, who owns a '99 S10 with the 4.3 Vortec, said it sounds like it may be the torque converter, and or the pump, as it will drive fine {for five minutes} til it gets hot and won't want to shift into 2nd gear, or any gear for that matter. It just loses all power to the tranny. Before I blow big money on a replacement trans, I want to know if any of you guys here have had or heard of this problem. Note that my Blazer is a '96 4x4, though the vacuum issue left me with 2WD the whole time.

Yes and.. My dad told me that long ago. Infact I have the filter he bought for it. Now my question is, is the transmission okay? I'll change out the filter in a bit, but my fear is the damage may already be done.
