Think of picking up a 82 blazer with 4" lift for a nice price but the question is, reverse don't work. what could it be and how much would it cost to fix? help!

The TH350 or 700R4 that's in it, is probably losing the pump or the sun gear is either cracked or broken...
You are gonna spend around $1200 to $1800 for a transmission shop to properly go through the tranny.
If the blazer is in decent shape, you will end up with a pretty nice K5... I would not hesitate to invest in a vehicle like that!

Looks like it's worth $700 to me but you will have to see it in person to be sure. Check for things like serious rust along the bottom of the body panels, fenders, doors and tailgate. Also see if the frame is cracked around/behind the steering box. Either way... still looks like it's worth $700 to me.

Default Tran swap?

It's a 700R4. Would the TH350 fit if I wanted to swap it out?

That is a common swap but you gotta have the correct (long shaft) Th350. Personally, I would rather spend my money on a 700R4 with it's lower 1st gear and overdrive.

I lost reverse in my 86 s10 blazer a couple months ago. I had to pull the tranny and took it to AAMCO. $1500 later, I still dont know if its fixed (havent gotten it back in yet)
