The purple wire at the starter solenoid comes from the neutral safety switch, (on the transmission) which only activates the solenoid/starter when the transmission is in neutral or park only. Applying battery voltage to the purple wire will activate the starter. On the driver side, near where the transmission shifter would be, there is a wire harness that would connect to the neutral safety switch, you'll find the purple wire there.

So that is under the vehicle correct? What's the best way to get power to that purple wire?

Jumper wire from battery positive to the purple wire, either at the starter solenoid, (attached to the starter) or at the neutral safety switch connector.

It's the little wire right? And will the starter just spinning or do I start it like normal?

Once the starter is enguaged it should turn the engine over so it should be normal.
Thanks Captain for filling in the rest of the details about the nss.

I know once the starter engages it turns the engine over....I'm asking if the direct power wire I run to the battery will make the starter run constantly

Turn the ignition to the RUN position, then apply battery voltage to the purple wire to engage the starter. After the engine starts, remove the voltage from the purple wire.

Check fuel pressure and leakdown. If fuel pressure is between 55psi and 61psi, the pump is running.
