Default Is this normal?

I just wanted to know if any of your trucks do the same thing, or if it is normal for this to happen. On my '96, I had my fuel pump replaced. Before that, the fuel gauge wasn't working too well. After the fuel pump was replaced, I have noticed that the fuel gauge is really sensitive. Everytime that I accelerate, it moves up closer to "F". Everytime that I brake and come to a stop, it moves down towards "E". I know my grandfather had a '95 Astro with a digital cluster, and it would do the same thing. I just wanted to know if this is normal.

Yep mine is the same.
The fuel tank is located front to rear direction, while climbing it shows like filled, when down hill the fuelguage goes down fast,

The fuel gauge moves back and forth during normal driving on a flat road. Not just on a steep hill. Everytime I acclerate, towards "F". Everytime I brake, towards "E".

how far does the needle move? mine varies slightly due to the angle of the car. if you speed up, fuel will move to the back of the tank and if you slow down, fuel will move to the front of the tank. of course, it depends on how hard you brake and accelerate and how full the tank is

If I have half a tank, everytime I brake, it would go down to about 1/4, and then when I accelerate, it would go past 1/2, and about 3/4.

It is normal, it is just the way the float is reading the level of the gas. Some guages are really sensitive others are less sensitive. Mine changes a lot when I am off roading because of the angles of the truck and therefore the gas tank.

When you accelerate, the gas in the tank is moving toward the back. When braking it moves toward the front of the tank. Same as if you are going up or downhill. Sounds as though you have a pretty sensitive guage but nothing to worry about.
