Default Oil cooler

Hello

I have a 94 S10 Blazer 4,3 TBI and I was wondering if it would be possible to bypass the original engine oil and tranny cooler in the radiator with new external coolers to put in front of radiator?

Just be careful you arent overcooling the trans oil or engine oil during the winter. One nice feature of having it all-in-one is that the engine coolant either warmed or cooled the oils as needed.

Higher quality coolers actually have a thermostat in them to pervent overcooling.

B&M Supercoolers have a neat viscosity controlled cooling feature to them in that if the fluid is too viscous (cool), a certain amount of flow will bypass the cooler. Many people put an auxiliary cooler inline with the stock coolers in the radiator to limit the effects of overcooling. The stock coolers are actually quite efficient.

Hello again

I was driving around town today and noticed that my trans temp got up to 100 C with stock cooler in radiator, and was wondering if that is high. Engine is just over 90 C

I do not use the car to tow stuff, just regular driving. The air temp in town is about 25 C now. And I was wondering if adding a trans cooler is necessary?

But in the winter it can get down to -20 C, so I was thinking of one of these Automatic Transmission SuperCoolers

The car i still a 94 S10 Blazer 4x4 4.3L TBI Auto. 223000km

I have owned the car for a year now and i love it
