oil pump low pressure

Default oil pump low pressure

i wanted to know f anybody knows why the am i getting low pressure reading ob my oil gauge.i just changed the oil sat.and this morning i noticed it being at 35psi.what is normal reading supposed to b.

I think mine is 40 at idle fully warmed up

I know the gauge is supposed to be almost at the middle while idling and when accelerating it goes up past the middle. Did you check the oil level?

oil does get thinner when warm, which would show less pressure. What weight did you put in?

Rule of thumb: 10 psi needed for each 1k RPM. GM specs 8psi minimum for our engines.

i use 5w30 high mileage castrol gtx.i guess its normal.thanks eveyone.

Default 40 psi @ idle after fully warmed is good.

My 4.3 in my truck starts up at 60psi.After it warms up it stays around 30psi at idle.I had a van with the same engine oil pressure was about the same till rod bearing started going bad.
