Oily air filter

Oily air filter
Have 85 S-10 W 2.5. Engine has about 3,000 miles on it after a rebuild. The air filter is being plugged by oil.I checked the PVC valve, its good. The valve cover does have a baffle in it. Checked the oil drain holes in head and they are open. The oil is being sucked through the hose that connects between the rear ofvalve cover and the breather. I thought maybe the rings might not have seated or one is broken? I checked all plugs and none are fouled.I'm not sure if the new oil pump installed was stock or high volume nor if that would make a difference? Thanks for any help

RE: Oily air filter
that doesnt sound good,, It was just rebuilt and theers oil in the air cleaner.. Did a shop build the motor or done at home? if a shop built it take it back... Does the exhaust smoke like the burning smell of oil???

RE: Oily air filter
Is the crankcase over full? This sounds like an excess oil aeration problem. Did they change the oil dip stick or the tube it goes into?
Did you do the rebuild or did you pay someone else to do it? If you paid someone, I would definitely let them know what is going on and that you aren't happy.
