ouch..
I recently bought a diamond in the rough. A 96 blazer lt leather fully loaded etc.. perfect interior, no rust and only paid $600 cause the guy I bought it from said it has "transmission issues" and the engine leaked.. the leaky engine I can handle, even some trans work, but this trans and t case are messed up. See pictures below, looks like the front driveshaft from the tcase to the front axle bashed the heck out of the trans and a lot of other stuff. And it doesn't look like it was replaced, they just put a new u joint in it..
Now that u know the back story.. heres my question: the front driveshaft obviously needs to be replaced(would only let me upload one photo but trust me the knuckle is pretty mangled ) But there is a lot of play in the driveshaft where it comes out of the transfer case, will the new driveshaft take care of the play? Or is there something I n the tcase causing the play in the shaft coming out of the transfer case?

Am I missing the pic? if the splined stub coming out of the transfer case is loose there may be a few worn pieces inside the T/C. If its tight, it should be just a matter of a new front shaft.
edit: found the pic. this is out of a 96? Looks like a Jeep style CV on it. Do you have any other pics of it?
