Default P1345 but runs well

I just purchased a 2002 blazer and the SES light is on with a P1345 code. The engine runs just fine though. I don't want to pull the distributor unless I have to. Can it run well and still be one tooth out of time?

Thanks Les. I see you went to a bunch of trouble explaining it to the last person who had the issue. So I'll expect to get a P0300 code next lol

Unless the cam position sensor itself is bad (I have personally never heard of one failing), you have to pull the distributor to fix a P1345. Worn gear or on the wrong tooth - either way distributor comes out. The cam sensor is plugged into the wiring harness, correct? They have been left disconnected before.

im experiencing this issue with the new distributor i put in. some are saying that the lower gear was installed backwards and needs to be taken off and reset correctly. i will try this and see if this corrects the problem
