Exclamation possible tranny/transfer case issue

hello all! I'm hoping someone can help me, i have a 98 blazer 4x4 and im having an issue when when the truck reaches 50-55 mph, its as if the tranny downshifts and the rpms jump substantially. All with me maintaining the same amount of throttle which essentially slows me down unless i really press the gas... this problem resolves itself by be either staying below 50mph or above 65mph. i let the issue persist for about a week as i drive a very short distance every day.. no freeway.. but have now noticed that the trans has started slipping when trying to get into third... did i just screw the tranny?? thanks in advance

Sounds like your torque converter is unlocking, then locking back up with slight increases in throttle position.

How does your transmission fluid look/smell?

By posting in two separate forums with the exact same questions, you have effectively double posted. This is against forum rules. Having two posts will only serve to confuse the issue when you get responses in one or the other without everyone knowing about both threads...
