Sorry to pester, but this truck is just got the better of me and I'm totally at a loss.

We spent all weekend under this truck, tracing back for possible blockage in the fuel line, only to find that it was indeed the fuel pump that was the problem. We were able to pick up another one & once installed the pressure at the schrader valve was steady at 56 psi. Until the fuel line under the truck burst!!! I must have stressed it a bit when I was taking off the fuel filter. So we ran new line & now no leaks, adn still have a solid 56-60 psi of fuel pressure. But still the truck won't start. We have rechecked for spark; both at the coil and at the #1 cylinder. Everything is good. The only thing that we have found now is that after numerous tries to get the truck to fire, we pulled out a few plugs to find them bone dry! I'm wondering if maybe the injectors still aren't opening. But I went through the repair manual (broke down & got one) and I can't find anything on checking if the CPI is working properly. Is there any way to manually activate the injector to see if it is really opening & getting any fuel into the cylinders?

pull the upper plumun off and pull a poppet out and put it in a large clear empty bottle and disconect the iginition coil and then have a buddy turn the iginition key and watch the spray pattern coming out. it should be a nice symetrical cone shape.....if not, then its clogged....

this changes the air flow inside the plenum @ WOT. it's what gives the early vortec's (CPI) their extra power over the Z codes.
