I traded my 1980 boat for a 99 blazer and I absolutely love it. Here is where I need help. In December the check engine light came on and it went into (limp mode) where you only have 2nd and 3rd gear and you have to shift manually. Got the code checked and it said a shift solenoid was bad and the torq converter was sticking so I took it to my transmission guy. He checked and swapped the shift solenoids checked the torq converter and it was fine. When he put it all back together it all worked fine other than the check engine light was still on and it was throwing the same torq converter code. He disconnected the harness going from the tranny to the computer and hooked his reader directly to the tranny and it checked out great. However as soon as he hooked it back to the ecu it went back into its thing. I went a got a different computer to try and after installation it wouldnt start. I read that upon a new computer you have to get it reprogrammed to the vin. How in the world do I do that and does anyone else think that this is even the problem? Thank you all in advance for your help.
