Got a family member asking for help replacing a 4.3 in their 97 blazer. They just called me tonight to look at it and It was dark and i couldnt see much. What im wondering is if its possible to pull it without bringing the tranny with it or is it too close by the firewall. I reached my hand down in the back and couldnt really tell but seems awful close.

Pull the engine separately. The tranny to engine bolts can be fun though.
