I would agree but alas, that is not the case. The radiator I want to install has twice the depth of our OEM ones with much larger side reservoirs.

Christine, you mind posting a link to the radiator? I might be looking to up size mine eventually.

Yeah, I guess I should have done this up front.

The radiator is claimed to be made in the US and I have not found it sold anywhere else.

In contrast I've found many of those eBay and Amazon radiators to be listed using the same picture and specifications but with different labels backing up what the website blog for Engineered Cooling Products says about those being likely re-sellers of Chinese-built radiators.

The picture looks like it has provisions for the oil cooler, though.

I have to agree, looks like it has provisions for both coolers. I would ask them though what kind of cooler is incorporated into the tanks. Some use tube style (not the greatest) and some use a plate style. The more plates the better it cools.

Yeah, I thought that too at first. Turns out those are mounting points for their electric fans.

Oh! OK. Makes sense, now. I kinda like the idea of keeping all the fluids separate. I know our trucks don't have an issue with it, but other makes, sometimes the coolant ends up leaking into the atf and frying the transmission

If you think about it the internal radiator coolers prob only let the oils cool to the point of the antifreeze. 195 / 210 and if engine is over heating above that. In theory by having a external cooler it should cool the oils below the motor antifreeze temp even on a 100* day .......

A former moderator and forum guru Captain Hook recommended an add on trans cooler from Advance Auto Parts. That sparked a debate on how to install the new cooler with the stock style GM S-10 Blazer. Incorporate the built in trans cooler with the new add on external trans cooler. That led to debate on installing it in series or parallel with the stock built in cooler. Some said to by pass the stock internal trans cooler and just use the new external cooler. This thread was several years ago and I wish I could access it now. My success at using the 'search feature' is none. I do remember it was from AAP and it was designed originally for an RV, so it was Heavy Duty. You had to design and manufacture your own mounting brackets. If anyone can locate that post, please give us a link to it.
