I am going under the assumptionn that everything worked fine before the battery went dead. that being said.... I think you may have two issues here. First sounds like there MAY be some type of aftermarket alarm installed. You can pull the drivers side hush panel then the knee bolster and see if this is true. If so, I recomend removing the alarm and reconnecting any wires the were cut for the alarm. Second thing I would check is to see if you have corrosion on the starter battery terminal. Back in the day, I had a Blazer come in with a simular complaint,I found corrosion linking the battery cable to the starter casing which is grounded. There is enough resistance in the corrosion so it will not burn up the cable, but it will draw enough power to keep the starter from turning over. If you do find this, disconnect the battery and charge it, it probably will be dead from the draw. clean the terminal or replace the cable if needed. clean the starter terminal, reinstall and test.. Hope this helps.

Was an old battery. Stopped holding any charge whatsoever so I brought it in to an auto store they checked it and said it was dead. Definitely starting to think its some aftermarket alarm. I know I'm naive but any ideas as to what I should e looking for?
