rotor and cap brand
I'm going to take a look at my rotor and cap in a few weeks when I do my front brake job and some other things, I was wondering if there is a brand thats better than the rest for the rotor and cap if not is there one I should avoid? The engine only has 34000 miles but it has like 6000hrs of just idleing on it which equals like 36000mi from what I read.

how does one idle for 6000 hours...much less keep track of it?
And stick with AC Delco. I can't count the number of times I've seen the following thread:
"Just did a full tune up, cap/rotor/plugs/wires and now it runs like crap!"
"What brand did you use"
"Bosch/Champion/Rob&Tims were on sale at Advance!"
"There's your problem"

Prior owner walked the dog with it twice a day for like and hour and a half each time every day. So I made it roughly 6000 in reality its is probably more. Where can one buy acdelco cap, partsamerica doesnt have one, and napa doesnt unless dcm is acdelco.

Hahah that's pretty ingenius..
www.rockautoparts.com has AC Delco parts for much cheaper than any parts store. If you're ok waiting a day or two for shipping

I stick with AC Delco and the reason being is the aftermarket caps are not made the same as the AC Delco and you can tell this when compared side to side. Never no worries with factory parts. I am always debating with myself as to when to buy a factory or an aftermarket part. I replaced a wiper motor with a rebuilt one and I had nothing but problems with it and bit the bullet and bought a brand new A/C delco unit and works like a champ. My engine and transmission are GM factory rebuilts and no issues with them as well. There are a lot of items that I do not think it matters. I also use NAPPA parts as a 2nd choice. My distributer died and GM only sell distributer parts but NAPPA had complete rebuilt units.

Definitely stick with AC Delco ignition parts on this truck (including plugs and wires). Any GM dealer should have these parts in stock for your engine.

Yah I just order the delco cap and rotor off rockauto along with some stablizer links I needed. They have really good prices wish I had stumbled on them before my brake job.
